Trump White House Formally Recognizes Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel
Presidential Proclamation Recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel
Earlier today, President Donald Trump signed a proclamation whereby the United States of America formally recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of the apartheid state of Israel. As the proclamation states, the move is authorized by the Jerusalem Embassy Act passed by Congress in 1995 (Public Law 104-45). Every American president has deferred the action six months at a time until the present.
The proclamation not only recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, it also states a commitment to relocate the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This was also part of the 1995 legislation. One detail that the proclamation leaves out is the standing Palestinian claim to Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. It goes without saying that this proclamation sends a clear signal that the Trump Administration favors Israel in its decades-long dispute with Palestinians over their land.
A Long-Sought Trophy for Jewish Supremacists and a Distraction from Michael Flynn?
It is no secret that all U.S. presidential candidates, and most congressional candidates, must pledge a commitment to the apartheid state of Israel and make an appearance before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) when running for office. For the uninitiated, AIPAC is one of the most powerful, possibly the most powerful lobby, in Washington and woe unto any American politician that fails to lick their boots. President Trump’s proclamation is highly symbolic but delivers a conspicuous trophy to this highly influential Jewish supremacist Washington lobby.
By delivering on a promise to Jewish supremacists that other presidents have also made but never delivered, Donald Trump has likely secured substantial long-term financing for his re-election bid, as well as for private business ventures, from deep-pocket Jewish supremacists like casino magnate, Sheldon Adelson. The timing also couldn’t have been better as it is creating a great distraction from the fallout of former National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, and his guilty plea just a few days ago in the RussiaGate scandal.
Whatever President Trump’s motivations are for issuing the Proclamation Recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel today, it definitely sends a clear message that it’s America First Israel First in the Trump White House!
