Donald Trump “the Outsider” Now on Sale!
As I’ve said on more than one occasion, Donald Trump is neither anti-establishment, nor is he an outsider and the mainstream media’s depiction of him as such should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, the mainstream media is owned and operated by the establishment and has a history of biased coverage. If he’s such a threat to the establishment, why have the mainstream media been showering him with coverage and attention since he was fired from his reality show? I addressed that question in a previous post, “How America Will Be Manipulated Into Electing Hillary Clinton President in 2016“, but there are changes afoot in the Trump campaign now that he’s become the presumptive Republican Party nominee. Donald Trump is now showing that he is happy to support the status quo if he thinks it will help him win in November.
Donald Trump Does a Lap Dance for AIPAC
The changes actually started when Donald Trump, the supposed rogue, self-financed billionaire candidate, changed his tune regarding Israel. Earlier in the 2016 campaign Trump stated a “neutral” position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, in late March this “outsider” candidate did the most insider/establishment thing a presidential candidate can do. Go speak before AIPAC in the hopes of gaining their endorsement. For the uninitiated, AIPAC stands for the “American Israel Public Affairs Committee” and is one of the most powerful special interest groups in Washington, D.C.
Being part of the establishment, Donald Trump understands how important AIPAC is to an American presidential candidate. Going back decades, most if not all American presidential candidates have felt compelled to pledge their support for Israel by speaking before AIPAC. Trump is proving no different and made it clear in his recent speech before pro-Israel group that he is “a lifelong supporter and true friend” of the state of Israel. More importantly, this public move from “neutral” to pro-Israel signifies that Trump knows he’s going to have to whore himself out, just like every other candidate, in order to finance his presidential bid. It also makes clear that this supposed Washington outsider is, in fact, just another politician willing to say or do anything necessary to win the next election.
Trump’s Dance for Dollars Has Just Begun
Donald Trump’s pandering to AIPAC has not gone unnoticed, as casino magnate Sheldon Adelson pledged up to $100 million to support the Trump campaign shortly after Trump’s speech before AIPAC. Trump has also recently picked up the endorsement of oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens, because, ya know, oil barons always go for the rebel. But Trump’s dance for dollars has only just begun. He is, after all, a business man and businessmen understand that any venture requires the raising of capital. What Americans need to understand, not just about Trump but about all candidates, is that big donors tend to be big business people. Big business types don’t drop big money into campaign coffers simply out of the goodness of their hearts or the promise of a tax right-off. They do it as an investment and expect a return on their investment. So if Trump wins the presidency, who do you think he will be working for? Will he be working for the working class Joes that turned out to vote for Trump in the primaries or the election? Or do you think a President Trump will be working for the Sheldon Adelsons that pump tens of millions of dollars into his campaign coffers?
