Why Would Republicans Do Something Like This?
There’s been quite a bit of chatter around the Internet about the short-lived Trump-Pence campaign logo which depicted Trump’s T penetrating Pence’s P. But there’s another Republican logo change that really deserves a closer look. Unlike the Trump-Pence logo change, this other logo change I’m talking about isn’t simply a poorly vetted marketing snafu. And although it would make for just as good of fodder for talking heads and late-night talk show monologues, this other Republican logo change has somehow flown under the radar for quite some time.
The 2000 Change
You’re probably familiar with the Republican Party logo (pictured above), which is an elephant split into three colors. Red on the bottom, blue on the top and a white stripe in between. While there is nothing in the red part, there are three white stars in the blue part, which presumably represent the stars on the U.S. flag. But if you pay close attention, you’ll notice something funny about those stars.
Your typical five-pointed star is depicted pointing upward, like you see on the U.S. flag. But the three stars on the Republican Party logo point downward, instead. Before we get into the potential significance of this fact, I would first like to address the fact this has not always been the case. The stars on the Republican logo used to point up.
In the year 2000, the Republican Party, for reasons still unknown, turned these stars upside-down. I don’t have a copy of the old logo to post here, but you can pull up the old logo by doing a search for “republican party logo pre-2000“. When you look at the old logo something else stands out. The Republican Party didn’t revamp the whole logo in 2000, they changed only the orientation of the three stars.
It does not make sense
This is a significant point. The Republican Party didn’t have somebody draft a whole new logo, which just happened to have the stars pointing upside-down. No, the only thing changed was the orientation of the three stars. This means that somewhere a decision was made not to create a whole new logo, but specifically to change only one feature of the existing logo. That feature was the orientation of the stars from pointing up (normal) to pointing down (not normal).
Regardless of party affiliation or religious beliefs, I think there are a few things everybody can agree on:
- Five-pointed stars are typically depicted pointing up. If you draw a five-pointed star pointing downward you are intentionally drawing an altered version.
- A five-pointed star drawn pointing downward is commonly viewed as having an evil and/or satanic meaning.
- The logo of an organization or company is an important matter, especially at the national or international level. The Republican Party, just like a big company, wouldn’t take the alteration of its logo lightly. Any change would require high-level approval.
- Finally, it’s common knowledge that the Republican base tends to be made up of religious conservatives. Why would the Republicans go to the effort to make such a specific change that could be offensive to their support base?
Could it be Satan?
Having an existing logo being rumored to indicate satanism can be a huge problem for a national brand. Just ask the people at Proctor & Gamble who had to redesign their decades-old logo back in the early 1990’s because of such rumors. But intentionally changing one feature of your logo in a way that can really only be interpreted as paying homage to the angel of darkness is practically begging for such controversy. Does this mean the Republican Party is run by satanists? I don’t know, but considering all of these fact, can you really come up with any other explanation for this change?
I’ve mentioned this to a person or two over the years and inevitably someone will suggest it either happened in error or someone is playing a joke on the Republican Party. Nice try, but that theory doesn’t hold water. Five-pointed stars are typically illustrated pointing upward. They don’t get auto-corrected to point down.
If this was done intentionally by some smart-ass, Democrat-loving intern at the firm that was handling the Republican logo at the time, do you think a national organization that spends millions (maybe even billions?) every election cycle on its image is going to accept such an alteration unauthorized? And then leave it that way for fifteen years?
This change clearly wasn’t in error or the result of some prank. It has been in place for over fifteen years now, and as I mentioned before, it’s the only change they made to the logo. There is really only one explanation that makes sense. But that’s not the end of the creepiness.
Why is Nobody Talking About It?
The Republicans aren’t the only people who have seemed to let this satanic alteration to their logo go for the past fifteen years. The downward pointing stars have miraculously gone unnoticed by the mainstream press and the Democratic Party, as well. If Democrats and Republicans are the bitter rivals they would have us believe, wouldn’t you think that at least one ambitious Democrat would have pointed out the satanic orientation of the stars on the Republican logo by now? I don’t see how a political strategist worth his salt could pass up the opportunity to use this in an attack ad against a Republican incumbent, especially in a conservative Southern district. Do you?
Furthermore, wouldn’t this change make for a great story in our sensationalist press, or at least the National Enquirer? Rumors about the Proctor & Gamble corporate logo being satanic got so much mainstream press back in the 1980’s that the company changed its decades-old logo. Yet the closest thing to mainstream media coverage of the change to the Republican logo that you will find is a Mother Jones article from 2008 (link below).
In that article, author Caroline E. Winter recounts how she attempted to obtain an official answer from the Republican National Committee on the logo change. Winter says she was told that somebody would get back to her. They never did and no other, more mainstream, news outlet has ever picked up where that story left off. None of this makes sense, unless you consider the seemingly ridiculous possibility.
What Do You Think?
There is a school of thought among conspiracy researchers that the world is run by a small group of very wealthy, very powerful satanists. If true, this fact should be sufficient cause for concern regardless of your religious beliefs, even if you’re satanist. If such interests controlled one of the only two viable political parties in the most powerful country on the planet, that should also be cause for concern. If they controlled both parties, that would call the legitimacy of the American political system into question. If they controlled the media, too, then, well it would actually explain a lot! But, seriously, doesn’t the fact that the Republicans have had this seemingly satanic change to their logo in place for over fifteen years, with no mention by Democrats or the mainstream media, indicate something fishy about the whole system?
