Bernie Sanders, “If you criticize Netanyahu, you will be targeted.”

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) recently spoke at the the Center for International Policy in Washington, D.C.

In referring to the influence of the foreign lobbying group that calls itself the “American Israel Public Affairs Committee” (AIPAC), the Senator said,

If you criticize Netanyahu, you will be targeted.

Netanyahu, of course, is the current prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Although AIPAC openly lobbies the U.S. government for Israel, it is not registered as a foreign agent as required under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

If the senator is as concerned as he sounds in the above video about the influence of this group on American elections, a group that exists to lobby and propagandize on behalf of a foreign government, shouldn’t he use his position to investigate why this group has been allowed to operate for decades without having to register as a foreign agent? Isn’t that, in fact, his job?
