Election 2020: The Vice Presidential Debate

VP’s Under Glass

Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Kamala Harris face off in the one and only vice presidential debate between the candidates of the two major party duopoly in the 2020 presidential election. The event is being hosted by the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT.

VP Pence and Senator Harris will appear separated by twelve feet of social distancing and curved plexiglass near each candidate. The Harris team insisted on the protective measures due to President Trump’s recent diagnosis with COVID-19 and apparent spread to White House personnel. Vice President Pence has repeatedly tested negative for the virus.

The Biden-Harris ticket is leading Trump-Pence in the polls, however Hillary Clinton was leading Donald Trump in the polls in 2016 and we all know how that turned out. Furthermore, President Trump still has about nine times the number of social media followers to Biden.

The 2020 Vice Presidential Debate will be moderated by Susan Page, the Washington bureau chief for USA Today and a longtime member of the DC press corps.

All debates run from 9:00pm to 10:30pm Eastern. The remaining debates are:

  • 2nd Presidential Debate: October 15, 2020
  • 3rd Presidential Debate: October 22, 2020
